Welcome 2012-2013 students and parents. I am looking forward to a great year with you!

My name is Alessia Sartorio and I teach US History to 1877, 20th Century World Affairs and Humanities I/ II.  I grew up in a bilingual and bicultural family in Northern Italy until I moved to the US to attend college.  I received my BA in History and Anthropology from Syracuse University, my MA in Anthropology (Historical Archaeology) from the University of South Carolina, and my teacher accreditation from DePaul University in Chicago. In 2010  I achieved National Board Certification in Social Studies-History. I have been teaching for 14 years in states as diverse as Illinois, Arizona, Michigan, and Alabama.  This will be my 8th year at Mountain Brook High School.  My passion is social and cultural history.
