Mrs. Wigton’s Positive Behavior Plan

We will be following a "whole brain teaching" approach in our classroom this year.

Our five classroom rules are as follows:
1. Follow directions quickly!
2. Raise your hand for permission to speak!
3. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat (I'm pretty flexible with this one, though!)
4. Make smart choices!
5. Make your dear teacher happy!

Individual Plan: Students will start each week with $5.00 in our behavior chart. If a rule is broken, I will always give one warning, which is called an Oops Card. If a rule is broken again, the child will owe $1.00 to the classroom bank. A note will go home that has to be signed and returned and the child will owe 10 minutes of recess. Money cannot be earned back unless we reach an agreement that the money was taken away wrongfully.

Students will get a punch in their “punch card” each day that they do not get an Oops card or owe $1.00.  When they get 20 punches, they will earn a special treat. On top of that, we will go shopping in our Classroom Store every other Friday to spend the money that they have earned. Students will have the option to save their money in our classroom bank to use at a later date, or they can spend it all then. (Store items include items such as; gum, candy, pencils, stickers, homework coupons, extra computer coupons, notepads, etc. Donations always welcome! :o). )

Whole Group Plan: We have a scoreboard hanging on our wall in the classroom. We will play a "You vs. Me" game. When i catch the whole class making smart choices, they will get 1 point. (Oh YEA!!) If they are not making smart choices, I will get 1 point (Mighty Groan!). If the class has beat me by Friday afternoon, they will earn PAT (preferred activity time) at the end of the day!
