  • CONGRATULATIONS TO STEPHANIE WEBSTER AND REESE WILLIAMS FOR PLACEMENT IN THE ALL STATE RED BAND. STEPHANIE AND REESE ALSO COMPETED IN THE SOLO COMPETITION WHERE REESE PLACED 5TH IN THE STATE. CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERY BAND MEMBER WHO COMPETED FOR ALL STATE BAND.
 
  • TONIGHT IS THE LAST CHANCE TO SEE THE PRODUCTION OF "ONCE ON THIS ISLAND". THE SHOW WILL BE AT 7PM TONIGHT AND TICKETS ARE $15
 
  • THE SPARTANS COMPLETED A SWEEP OF THE VESTAVIA REBELS LAST NIGHT TO CLINCH THE AREA 11 TITLE. ALAN HALE WENT 5 AND 2/3S INNINGS PICKING UP THE WIN AND ALLOWING ONLY 2 HITS. DAVIS MCDOUGAL PICKED UP HIS 4TH SAVE OF THE YEAR TO CLOSE OUT THE GAME. ANDREW AUTREY LED THE SPARTANS OFFENSIVELY WITH 3 OF THE SPARTANS 6 HITS AND SCORED 2 RUNS. JOHN EAGAN HAD 2 RBI'S IN THE 3RD INNING AND HUNTER HOLCOMB ADDED ANOTHER IN THE 6TH INNING.
  • THE SPARTANS WILL BE BACK IN ACTION TODAY AT 4:30 VS. SPRING GARDEN FOR SENIOR NIGHT. PLAYOFFS START NEXT FRIDAY AT HOME WITH A DOUBLE HEADER VS. GARDENDALE. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM.
 
  • TOMORROW NIGHT THE SOCCER GAME IS HOSTING A GREEN OUT TO BEAT VESTAVIA. ANY STUDENT WHO WEARS GREEN TO THE GAME WILL GET FREE PIZZA. THE JV TEAM PLAYS AT 5:30 PM AND THE VARSITY PLAY AT 7:30 PM. THE PIZZA WILL BE THERE AT 7:15.

  • THIS MORNING WAS THE FIRST OF THE PROJECTED 30 DAY CLOSURE OF BETHUNE DRIVE DURING OUR MORNING COMMUTE. YOU PROBABLY NOTICED TRAFFIC WAS BACKED UP MORE THAN NORMAL TODAY. THE ADMINISTRATION REMINDS STUDENTS TO MAKE MORNING PLANS ACCORDINGLY. THE WORK IS SCHEDULED TO LAST 30 DAYS. OAKDALE DRIVE AND THE BACK GATE WILL BOTH REMAIN OPEN AS USUAL.
 
  • TODAY, WE ARE ON AN ASSEMBLY/CLUB SCHEDULE FOR S-G-A ELECTIONS. THE ASSEMBLY WILL START AT 9:44 IN THE FINE ARTS CENTER FOR SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS. SENIORS SHOULD REMAIN IN THE MALL AND CAFETERIA TODAY DURING THAT TIME. ELECTIONS WILL BE HELD IN THE MALL ALL DAY TODAY.
 
  • THE MUSE IS ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR THEIR ONLINE LITERARY JOURNAL. THEY ARE ACCEPTING SHORT STORIES, POETRY, PHOTOGRAPHY, AND OTHER ART. APPLICATIONS CAN BE EMAILED TO MRS. TRIMM BY APRIL 25TH.
 
  • TWO JUNIOR GIRLS MAY BE SELECTED BY THE SCHOOL TO PARTICIPATE IN 2014 GIRLS STATE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA FOR ONE WEEK THIS SUMMER. TO BE SELECTED, STUDENTS MUST HAVE AN INTEREST IN GOVERNMENT, STRONG LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND A RECORD OF ACADEMIC STRENGTH. ANY JUNIOR GIRL INTERESTED MUST SUBMIT A RESUME TO THE COUNSELING OFFICE BY APRIL 22ND.
 
  • APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2014/2015 AMBASSADORS WILL BE AVAILABLE TODAY THROUGH FRIDAY IN THE BINS ON THE WALL IN THE FRONT OFFICE. ALL APPLICATIONS ARE DUE TO THE COUNSELING OFFICE BY MONDAY APRIL 21ST AT NOON.
 
  • YESTERDAY THE ALABAMA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION CENTRAL BOARD VOTED ON SEVERAL CHANGES FOR THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR...INCLUDING THE ADDITION OF BOWLING AS A CHAMPIONSHIP SPORT FOR THE 2015-16 YEAR. THIS GIVES MEMBER SCHOOLS A CHANCE TO DEVELOP THEIR BOWLING PROGRAMS FOR ONE YEAR BEFORE IT BECOMES A SANCTIONED SPORT. NO WORD YET IF MBHS WILL BE COMPETING IN THE LANES ANYTIME SOON. WE'LL BE SURE TO KEEP YOU POSTED.
 
  • THE BOYS GOLF TEAM SHOT A COMBINED 583 TO WIN BY 22 SHOTS OVER SPAIN PARK YESTERDAY. MICHAEL BROWN SCORED A 67-77 AND WILSON SIMMONS SHOT 71-73 TO MAKE ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM. CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM.
