•The Concert Band received a Superior Rating with Distinction at the Alabama Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment (4th consecutive year)

•The Concert Band received Three Individual Gold Ratings for an overall Gold Standard Rating at the Southern Star Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia (3rd consecutive year). In addition, the band received a Sweepstakes Award for being the highest scoring middle school/junior high band at the festival, (3rd consecutive year).

•The concert band earned a superior rating with distinction at the Alabama Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment on March 10th at Calera High School. This represents the highest award a band can earn in the state of Alabama.

•The 8th grade and 9th grade jazz ensembles earned straight superior ratings at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame Jazz Festival on Thursday, April 7th at Munger Hall on the campus of Birmingham-Southern College.

•The Concert Band earned an overall Gold rating (Gold, Gold, Silver) and tied for first place in their class earning a sweepstakes award at the Southern Star Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia on April 30, 2011. 

•The band program participated in the ABA solo and ensemble festival on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 with 55 events and 50 events earning a superior rating. •The Concert Band and 9th Grade Jazz Ensemble participated in the Music in the Parks Festival in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, May 2, 2009. They performed at Douglasville High School and received straight superior ratings and placed first in their respective classes. The Jazz Ensemble also placed first out of all the jazz ensembles at the festival. Special recognition was given to Aaron S. for earning the most outstanding jazz soloist award for the entire festival for his bass solos with the Jazz Ensemble.

•On February 12, 2009, the Concert Band performed at District Contest and received an overall superior rating.
