•The Concert Band and 9th Grade Jazz Ensemble participated in the Music in the Parks Festival in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, May 2, 2009. They performed at Douglasville High School and received straight superior ratings and placed first in their respective classes. The Jazz Ensemble also placed first out of all the jazz ensembles at the festival. Special recognition was given to Aaron S. for earning the most outstanding jazz soloist award for the entire festival for his bass solos with the Jazz Ensemble.

•On February 12, 2009, the Concert Band performed at District Contest and received an overall superior rating.

• Concert Band earned an excellent rating and won first place in the middle school division at the Music in the Parks festival in Atlanta, Georgia on May 5, 2007. They also earned the second highest score of the festival for middle school bands.
• Symphonic Band earned a superior rating and won first place in the junior high division at the Music in the Parks festival in Atlanta, Georgia on May 5, 2007. They earned the highest score of the festival for middle school or junior high school bands.
