I am John Pledger and I teach 7th and 8th grade Social Studies.  I am also the Head Coach for the Freshman Football team. 

I am originally from Hokes Bluff, AL and graduated with a Master's Degree from Jacksonville State University. 

I have been teaching and coaching for 18 years, including serving as defensive coordinator at Oak Mountain HS, Foley HS, Homewood HS and Chelsea HS. 

I am married with 4 children (Lauren-17, Ayden-4, Anna Claire-3, and Adelaide-1) and we live in Mountain Brook.  So when I am not teaching and coaching, I am spending time with my family, usually playing outside.

I am excited about the things that we will do in the classroom this year.  Mountain Brook Jr. High is an incredible place to learn because of the dedication of the teachers, administration and parents.  I am blessed to belong to such a wonderful community.
