Information about our Media Center
 
The purpose of the Cherokee Bend Library/Media Center is to promote reading, to assist teachers in teaching students, and to provide access to information.
 
There are 19,500 titles and 18 periodical titles in our collection as well as 34 fully networked computers in the library/media center and adjoining computer lab. These work stations provide access to all network applications include Destiny, the Alabama Virtual Library, and filtered access to the Internet.
 
The Cherokee Bend School Library Media/Center operates on flexible scheduling. Flexible scheduling allows the use of the LMC at the point of need by individuals, groups, and/or classes.
 
 Library Media Center Procedures
 
The Library Media Center and computer lab open daily at 7:20 AM for grades 3 through 6. Students working on assignments will have priority for computer lab space during this time. The LMC is open for all students Monday through Friday 7:50 – 2:50.
 
Books may be checked out for a two-week period and renewed as needed. Kindergarten and first grade students may check out two books. Students in second and third grades may check out three books, and fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students may check out four books. Courtesy overdue notices will be sent home as a reminder to students. There are no fines for overdue books. Lost books will need to be paid for by the last day of school.
