Sean Womack is the co-founder of DoubleStop Percussion, a Birmingham-based company
providing percussion instruction for all levels of experience in over twenty schools across the
southeast. Under his direction, ensembles have performed at the Alabama Music Educators
Association In-Service Conference and the Alabama Day of Percussion, as well as various festivals throughout the southeast. In addition, Mr. Womack maintains a private studio of over twenty
students. He has performed and presented clinics at the Georgia Music Educators Association In-
Service Conference, the Alabama Music Educators Association In-Service Conference, and the
Alabama Day of Percussion. He received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the
University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from the
University of Georgia, where he also was employed as a graduate teaching assistant. Mr. Womack has performed with the Savannah Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Macon Symphony Orchestra, and is a former member of the Magic of Orlando drum and bugle corps. His teachers include Eric Hollenbeck, Tony McCutchen, and Arvin Scott. Mr. Womack is a member of the Percussive Arts Society, MENC, and the Alabama Music Educators Association. He is also endorsed by Innovative Percussion.
