NEW VACCINATION REQUIREMENT FOR SIXTH GRADERS, 2010-2011
Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year all students entering the sixth grade will require a booster dose of Tdap (tetanus-diphtheria toxoid and acellular pertussis vaccine).
Alabama State law requires that all 11- and 12-year-old sixth grade students who have not received their Tdap booster be vaccinated before entering school for the 2010-2011 school year.
Your student’s enrollment for the sixth grade will not be complete without an updated blue certificate of immunizations.
We have an obligation in the school system to make sure that students have this done prior to the student beginning the school year. We need each family’s help with this.
Please attend to it with your child’s pediatrician as soon as possible. Your prompt attention to this matter should result in a smooth beginning of the school year, and avoidance of last minute rushes at the doctor’s office.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Should you need assistance in this matter, please contact your school office.
