Mrs. Theresa Shadrix

Theresa Shadrix is the 9th grade Broadcast Journalism (Media Arts) and an 7th grade English teacher at Mountain Brook Junior High School.

She began her professional education career at Oxford High School, located in Oxford, AL., in 2012 teaching Career and Technical Education in Advertising & Graphic Design, Yearbook, and TV Production. She was the OHS SkillsUSA advisor and ACTE Technology Fair coordinator. In 2016, she was selected as the Oxford High School Secondary Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Shadrix has been actively involved in student leadership, choice, and voice. She was an inaugural IDEO Teacher's Guild Fellow for the 2017-2018 school year with a passion project of incorporating design thinking and human-centered design to increase student leadership and voice. 

Before becoming a teacher, she worked for Consolidated Publishing as the Managing Editor of Longleaf Style magazine and Special Publications Editor for The Anniston Star
