The school counseling program at Brookwood Forest is designed to promote students' strengths and interests, develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to be safe, be respectful, and to be their best! Every class receives a minimum of 16 units of classroom guidance, which is offered on an 9-week schedule during their class's Specials time. For example, I will see each 2nd grade class each week on their "break day" from their regular specials during the first and third 9-weeks. In addition to classroom guidance, individual and small group counseling, the school counselor is responsible for coordinating standardized testing, accepting and managing referrals for Student Support Team, coordinating Section 504, monitoring attendance, consulting with parents and teachers regarding emotional, social, or behavioral concerns.
