Amy Loden is a native of Huntsville, AL. She has studied music since she was 9 years old. Amy took piano and sang in her church choir throughout her elementary and secondary school years. She also studied photography and was a photographer for her high school yearbook. She attended Birmingham Southern college where she majored in Pipe Organ, sang in the choir, studied voice and classical guitar. She worked for 8 years as a youth director and music director in various Methodist churches. After getting her Orff Schulwerk certifications, she decided to pursue her Masters in Music Education from Samford University. She taught in Jefferson County for 6 years and is starting her 20th year in Mountain Brook. She teaches choir and yearbook at MBJH. She is married to Dan Loden, whom she met at a yearbook conference. They live in Bluff Park. Amy and her husband volunteer as ushers at the Alabama and Lyric theaters in downtown Birmingham. They love the beach and enjoy traveling together.
