About the Dorian Staff

    Mrs. Heather Fitch is a 1992 K-12 graduate of Mountain Brook Schools, and a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College.  She holds Master's degrees in Spanish and in Instructional Leadership, and Bachelor's degrees in Spanish and in International Business.  She serves as Sponsor of the Dorians, and has worked with the dance program for seventeen years.  In addition to her responsibilities with the Dorians, Mrs. Fitch is a Spanish teacher at Mountain Brook High School where she has taught for 21 years, and she currently serves as Chair of the Department of World Languages.  
    Ms. Jane Thornton is a teacher in the Special Education department at Mountain Brook Junior High and comes to us with extensive dance training and experience.  She attended Vestavia Hills High School where she was a Rebelette, and served as a Captain on their junior varsity and varsity teams.  She has trained for over fifteen years and danced competitively at Jackie O’Neal for 8 years.  She coached an area middle school dance team before joining the faculty at MBJH, and holds private dance lessons for aspiring dance team members in the Birmingham area.
