About the Dorian Staff

  • Mrs. Heather Fitch is a 1992 K-12 graduate of Mountain Brook Schools.  She holds Master's degrees in Spanish and in Instructional Leadership, and Bachelor's degrees in Spanish and in International Business.  She serves as Sponsor of the Dorians, and has worked with the dance program since 2003. Mrs. Fitch is a Spanish teacher at Mountain Brook High School, where she has taught since 2000, and she serves as Chair of the Department of World Languages.  
     
    Mrs. Anna Scofield is excited to join our coaching staff.  She is a 2009 graduate of Mountain Brook Schools where she held leadership roles in dance programs at the junior high and high school.  She coached the 7th Grade Dance Team at Mountain Brook Junior High for many years, and trained extensively at a local Birmingham dance studio.  She brings to the program a wealth of dance training in multiple genres.
     
    Ms. Courtney Zajic coaches the Dorains and is a graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham where she was a 4-year UAB Golden Girl. Serving as Captain her senior year, she was awarded Teammate of the Year for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons.  A graduate of Helena High School, Ms. Zajic worked on UDA Staff for two years, and has competed at UDA College Nationals.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude from UAB's School of Nursing in May 2021, and works as a nurse at an area hospital.
     
    Ms. Caroline Elliott is part of the Mathematics Department Faculty at MBHS, and was a member of the dance team at the University of Alabama, serving as captain her senior year.  She holds a  bachelor's degree in Mathematics, and  Master's Degree in Secondary Education.
