The 2020-2021 school year marks Mary Catherine's fifth year at MBE and first year as Mrs. Anderson. Mary Catherine is originally from Beaumont, Texas. Before moving to Birmingham in the summer of 2016, she spent five years in Baton Rouge, Louisana. While in Baton Rouge, Mary Catherine attended Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!) and started her first year in the classroom as a special education teacher. In the spring of 2019, Mary Catherine graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education. Although she may be starting her sixth year in the classroom with a new last name, her passion for teaching remains the same. Outside of the classroom, you can find Mary Catherine cooking, exercising and traveling with family and friends.
