Mrs. Sophie Watkins

Mrs. Watkins graduated from the University of Alabama in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She began her career in Shelby County Schools, first at Thompson High teaching algebra 1 and then at Oak Mountain High teaching algebra 1, algebra 2, analytical math and precalculus. Mrs. Watkins completed her masters while teaching at Thompson. This year is her sixteenth year in education and second year at Mountain Brook Junior High, and she has recently become a National Board Certified Teacher. She currently teaches geometry and advanced geometry. 

Outside of school, Mrs. Watkins enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and three children as well as playing tennis. Her favorite places to visit are St. George Island and Lake Martin. After a wonderful summer vacation, she is super excited to meet her new students and lead them on their geometry journey! Go Spartans!!!
