World Language Graduation Requirements

  • Learning a World Language is an integral part of every student's learning experience! While students are encouraged to study a world language for as many years as possible, please see the list below to see how many classes are needed to achieve the following diplomas:

    Standard Diploma

    World Language Requirements: Three courses must be from Career Technical Education, Fine Arts, or World Language, either all from one or any combination of the three.

    Advanced Diploma

    World Language Requirements: Two world language courses must be taken consecutively in the same world language.

    Advanced Diploma with Honors

    World Language Requirements: Three world language courses must be taken consecutively in the same world language.

    *Please note that Spanish 1A (Exploratory) and Spanish 1B are each HALF of a language credit. You will receive one language credit after taking both 1A and 1B or after taking Spanish 1.
