MBHS Ranks Among the Top 1% Nationally


  • Tuesday, August 29, 2023 — Mountain Brook High School is pleased to announce its exceptional performance in the latest U.S. News and World Report’s ‘Best High Schools’ rankings. Demonstrating its commitment to academic excellence, the school has secured a position in the top one-percent of high schools nationally.

    In the National Rankings, Mountain Brook High School has achieved a commendable #220 ranking, solidifying its reputation as a top-performing institution on a nationwide scale. When broken down into open-enrollment schools, Mountain Brook is ranked among the top 50 in the country. Within the state of Alabama, MBHS was ranked number one among open-enrollment public schools and number two overall. 

    Recognizing the importance of STEM education in today's rapidly evolving world, the high school has also garnered an impressive #103 ranking in the ‘STEM High Schools’ category. This achievement reflects the school's commitment to equipping students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.

    The rankings are based on a comprehensive evaluation that takes into account several factors, including performance on state-required tests, graduation rates, and the school's effectiveness in preparing students for success in college and beyond. Mountain Brook’s consistent pursuit of excellence and dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals has played a pivotal role in securing these rankings.
