21 MBHS Theatre Students Qualify for State

Monday, November 6, 2023 -- Mountain Brook High School theatre students participated in the Walter Trumbauer District 6 Theatre Competition this past weekend and the students performed extremely well! A total of 19 theatre students competed in 27 different individual events. Twenty-three out of the 27 events received superior scores and 21 events are eligible to advance to the Walter Trumbauer State Theatre Competition.

Additionally, The Frogs was awarded Best Ensemble, Best Technical Production, Best Set. Three cast members were placed on the All Star Cast (Maggie Bearden, Sydney Clark & Camden Rhodes). and Mari Miller won Best Leading Performance in a One Act.
The Frogs won Best in Show and will be representing District 6 at the Walter Trumbauer State Theatre Competition in December at The University of North Alabama.
"I'm incredibly proud of these students and their performances over the weekend," MBHS Theatre Director Jane Ganey said. "They showed class and professionalism in every way. I'm honored to be a part of such a wonderful and supportive system! State bound!"
