Monday, November 13, 2023 – One thing remains certain: the Spartans will find the podium.The Mountain Brook High School boys and girls cross country teams defended their 6A state championships on Saturday morning in Oakville, AL in dominating fashion! Between the two teams, the Spartans totaled seven all-state runners.

The girls scored 46 points* as a team while the boys finished with 74. Both had a 40+ point margin of victory! As a program, this marks the girls 3rd cross country state championship in a row and 26th cross country title in program history. For the boys, this is their second cross country state championship in a row and 16th in program history.

Mountain Brook High School is now home to 189 total state championships with 82 of those belonging to the boys and girls cross country and track and field programs. A big congratulations to Coach Michael McGovern and his staff!
