Mrs. Jennifer Watson

I began my teaching career in 1992 after graduating from Auburn University in Business/Marketing Education.  This year starts my twenty-sixth year in education and my fourteenth year at Mountain Brook Junior High.

In 2013, I began teaching a new state required elective called Career Preparedness!  This course focuses on three integrated areas of instruction—academic planning, financial literacy, and technology.  Career Prep A focuses only on the first and third areas. Course content ranges from college and career preparation to computer literacy skills to ways to manage personal finances and reduce personal risk. The area of technology is embedded into the course instruction. Mastery of the content standards provides a strong foundation for student acquisition of the skills, attitudes, and knowledge that enables them to achieve success in school, at work and across the span of life.

My class will be different than some other classes because we will use technology every day. We spend a lot of time working in groups, exploring, researching, reading, writing, watching videos, creating videos, and completing projects.  I have a passion for teaching and constantly tweak activities and lessons to be more meaningful and engaging for my students. I’m looking forward to an exciting year!
