Justin Ransom

    Coach Ransom is currently in his second season as the head coach of the wrestling
    team. A native of Douglasville, Ga, Ransom was previously an assistant coach at
    Carson-Newman College and Head coach of Heard County High School in Franklin,
    Ga. In addition to coaching, Ransom will be joining the special education dept. at MBHS. Before coaching, Ransom
    was a 2x state champion and placer from Alexander High School in Douglasville, Ga. Following a successful high
    school career, which included being a 2x high school All-American, Ransom continued his career at the collegiate
    level for Carson-Newman College. While at Carson-Newman, he was a 4-year starter and was a 3x NCAA Super-
    Regional place winner. After his competition years, Ransom continued as an assistant wrestling coach under Hall of
    Fame Coach Don Elia at Carson-Newman. While there he went on to coach several NCAA Division II All-Americans
    and coached the Eagles to a National Duals appearance while earning a graduate degree in counseling. Ransom
    left Carson-Newman to take over the head coaching position at Heard County High School. In two years, Ransom
    developed a sound program that broke every previous school record held by the school which included having
    13 regional place winners, 6 region champions, two 3rd place finishes as a team, and two state placers in his second
    year as head coach. Ransom’s overall dual record as a head coach is 102-43 with a record of 73-30 at MBHS. At MBHS, Ransom has coached 8 state placers, 3 finalists, and has finished in the top ten at the state tournament back to back years.
    Joe Webb, a native of Birmingham, AL, Webb  has been the  Head boys soccer coach since 1996 and an assistant wrestling coach since 2003 at Mtn Brook. After attending Birmingham, Southern, Webb served as a liaison for the Mexican National Team. In addition to coaching wrestling, Coach Webb teaches 11th grade US History. He is married to Christa and has three children: Jason, Loryn, and Ryan.
    Andrew Scofield is entering his 3rd year of coaching at MBHS. Andrew is a former Mtn Brook wrestler where he posted a decorated career prior to graduating in 2010 including being a 2x state placer and a finalist.
