Donald Clayton is in his 22nd year in education and his 11th as Principal of Mountain Brook Junior High. Before serving as Principal, Donald was the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at MBJH for one year. Prior to his move to Mountain Brook Schools, he worked at Oak Mountain High School in many different roles. During his tenure at Oak Mountain, Donald served as assistant principal, athletic director, history teacher, girls basketball coach, and boys soccer coach. He received his Educational Specialist degree from Auburn University and his Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and Administrative Certificate from the University of Montevallo.
Donald is married to Kelly Clayton and together they have a son (Carter), two daughters (Caroline and Cora), a miniature schnauzer (Rafa), a cat (Tony), and a goldendoodle (Stella).
