• Adam Coulter Johnson 

    Girls Soccer

    Coaching Career: 17 years 

    Adam is starting his second year as head coach of Mountain Brook Women’s soccer program. He began his coaching career at Charles Henderson High School in Troy, AL as the head coach of the school’s first ever soccer team. He led the school to their first ever State Playoff appearance. In 2005, Coach Johnson became the Head Boys soccer coach at Thompson High School. The Warriors were able to make the State Playoffs in three out of four seasons while under his leadership. After leaving Thompson, Coach Johnson joined the Mountain Spartan family as a teacher at Mountain Brook Junior High. Adam coached the Girls Junior Varsity team during the 2014-2015 season and helped the girls earn an impressive 12-2-3 record.  

    Coach Johnson currently holds a USSF “B” License and coaches for Vestavia Hills Soccer Club. Adam has won two State Championships as a club soccer coach and has competed in 6 state championship final matches at both the Division I and Division II levels.  

    Adam earned his B.S. in Mathematics and his M.S. in Educational Leadership and Instructional Technology from Troy University where he also served as the beloved mascot, “T-Roy.” He currently teaches all things math related at Mountain Brook Junior High. 


    Christi Elias

    Coaching Career:  21 years

    Coach Elias is beginning her second year teaching and coaching at Mountain Brook High School.  She attended William Carey University and was a member of the Crusader Women’s Soccer team.  After graduating, she played two years on the W-league women’s amateur soccer team in MS.  

    Coach Elias began her coaching career in Mississippi with the South Mississippi Soccer Club serving as a head coach and co-director of the club during her last two years of college.  Upon graduation, she accepted the assistant coach position at her alma mater and coached for two years before accepting a teaching and coaching position at Our Lady Academy in Bay St. Louis, MS.  While at OLA, Coach Elias led her team to 5 state championship titles, 8 south state championships, and 8 district championships.  She was awarded MS State Coach of the Year twice, South MS Coach of the Year, Sectional Coach of the Year, and was selected to serve as the All-Star South Coach.  Coach Elias also served as the Assistant Coach for the Women’s Soccer team at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.  She worked alongside head coach, Melissa Heinz to create the first women’s soccer team at this NCAA Division I university.  She is excited to be a part of another rich athletic program, and looks forward to working with Coach Adam Johnson and the Mountain Brook Women’s Soccer Team.
