Mrs. Nancy Rutland Glaub
After graduating from Mountain Brook High School, Mrs. Glaub graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Foreign Service, concentrating in Humanities and International Affairs. She comes to teaching after nearly 30 years of working for a mix of Fortune 500 corporations, nonprofits, small entrepreneurial startups, and herself.
In 2013, Mrs. Glaub earned a Masters in English at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where she was chosen as the Most Outstanding Graduate Student in English and became a member of the Sigma Tau Delta international honor society. Her Masters in Secondary Education was awarded in December 2014 by Samford University, where she received a merit-based scholarship. She holds a Class A Certification in English Language Arts and is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English. Mrs. Glaub received an ETS Recognition of Excellence certificate for her English Content Knowledge exam score. She gained early experience teaching in a variety of schools, including Homewood Middle, Homewood High, Trussville Middle, Tarrant High, and various Mountain Brook schools. She spent Fall 2015 in a long-term sub position at MBHS (English 10 Advanced, English 12) and Spring 2016 at Oak Mountain High School (English 9 Advanced and Regular).
Mrs. Glaub enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, training her Wheaten Terrier, reading, writing, cooking, traveling, hiking, kayaking, bird watching, attending concerts, and volunteering in the community, especially with her church.
