I am so excited to be entering my 13th year of teaching! Wow! Where does time go?! My family and I moved to Alabama from the Nashville, TN, area where I taught in Metro Nashville Public Schools. While in Alabama, I spent 5 years with Homewood High School, and this will be my 4th year with Mountain Brook High School. My focus is Business Education and Technology. Through Business Tech courses, I absolutely love teaching students how to apply office skills, office technology, and every day emerging technologies to real-world problems. One of my favorite courses that I teach is Co-op. It is truly amazing to see our talented students at work. Many of my students work in traditional offices, assist in dental offices, train, and care for horses, as well as conduct medical research with local hospitals and organizations. I am always in awe of their tremendous talents and work ethic. Most of all, I am so happy for their opportunity to combine school with their passions and interests.

I studied at Delta State University (Home of the Fighting Okra!) and finished my coursework at Middle Tennessee State University, where I received my Bachelor of Science, majoring in Business Education. I also received a Master of Education in Science from Arkansas State University. Prior to teaching, I was employed with Centrix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. based out of Birmingham, AL.

For the 2019-2020 school year, I will be teaching Business Technology I and II, Yearbook/Journalism, Career Co-op, Finance, and IncubatorEdu. I am a member of the Alabama Business Education Association, National Business Education Association, and Alabama Career and Technical Education Association. I love to read (over 20 books in the 2019 summer!), traveling, and spending time with my husband and three children. Our Australian Shepherd- Boomer, Basset Hound- June Carter, and our cat- Puddles keep me on my toes and complete my family.

One of my goals this year is to have more of a presence on social media! Feel free to follow me on Twitter: @MrsBsBusiness and on Instagram: mrsbsbusiness. I am hoping to showcase all of the fabulous things that my students accomplish throughout the school year.
