Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Krissie Allen
Mrs. Allen graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 1996. After then graduating from Notre Dame Law School and working as an environmental attorney, she ultimately decided to finally pursue her dream of teaching high school students. She has obtained her Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her certificate in Instructional Leadership from Samford University. In 2016, she was also appointed to Alabama’s ESSA implementation committee, where she had the privilege of working on the standards and assessment subcommittee. Prior to joining Mountain Brook High School, she taught English at Homewood High School, Homewood Middle School, and John Carroll Catholic High School.
Passionate about the power of words, Mrs. Allen enjoys teaching 10th grade English and co-teaching both 10th and 11th grade American Studies at Mountain Brook High School. She hopes to inspire students to discover more about themselves and the world through the English language.
When she isn’t teaching, she enjoys writing and simply driving carpools for her five children.
