Mrs. Nidia Fernandez-Lee

Nidia Fernandez-Lee is a new teacher to Mountain Brook Junior High but has taught math and computer science for 19 years.  She previously taught at Clay-Chalkville Middle School and Shades Valley High School/Jefferson County International Baccalaureate.  This year at MBJH, she will teach 9th grade Algebra I, 8th grade Advanced Algebra I (Math Team), and several Project Lead the Way classes (Medical Detectives, Innovators and Makers,  Design and Modeling and App Creators).

Mrs. Fernandez-Lee has lived in the Mountain Brook area for 4 years with her husband, three children, dog, cat, and bearded dragon. She is originally from Huntsville, Alabama where she went to Grissom High School.  She graduated in 1995 and 1997 from the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a BS in Psychology and MA in Mathematics Education, respectively. She does not have many hobbies because she is really busy having fun with her family, like bowling, kayaking, cooking and karaoke!
