I am so excited to begin my first year teaching English at Mountain Brook Junior High! I graduated from UAB with a bachelor’s in English in 2009, and I recently earned my Master’s in Education in Secondary English Language Arts. Prior to returning to school, I spent many years as a legal assistant. However, my passion for literature and my desire to help students develop into analytical thinkers and skilled writers led me to become an English teacher.
My husband and I have two inquisitive and rambunctious young boys in elementary school who keep us on our toes! When I am not at school, I love to cook adventurous foods and read about far off places.
Regardless of your own interests or passions, I hope to help you gain the skills to better pursue them as you advance in your education and life. I cannot wait to get to know you this year! Stay curious!

-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”
-Alfred, Lord Tennyson
"There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.”
-T.H. White, The Once and Future King
