Degrees and Certifications:
Jess Heine is a native Kentuckian who received a B.A. in English from Samford University, an M.A. in English from UAB, and an M.S.Ed in English Lanuage Arts from Samford University. After teaching 101, 102, and British and American Literature courses at UAB, Mrs. Heine moved to The Altamont School, where she spent 6 years teaching 11th grade AP American Literature, 12th grade seminar courses (Women Writers, Shakespeare, American Drama), and served as Chair of the English Department.
Mrs. Heine is excited to join the Mountain Brook Spartans this year, and she will be teaching College Prep 11 and Dual Enrollment 12. She has two daughters who attend Crestline Elementary.
Mrs. Heine is an avid trail runner, musician, reader, hiker, traveller, and rock climber. She loves to spend time outdoors with her husband, children, golden retriever, and friends. She serves as one of the worship leaders at Redeemer Community Church, where her husband is a pastor. She enjoys talking endlessly about Moby Dick and seeing live music as often as possible.
