Mr. Hagen is excited to join the Mountain Brook Junior High Staff this year as 7th Grade Accelerated Math teacher!

Mr. Hagen has taught Math for 17 years, with sixteen of those years at Summit Hill Junior High located in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago. Mr. Hagen earned a BS of Accountancy from the University of Illinois in 2002, and then worked for Liberty Mutual for a year before deciding to become a teacher. After leaving the corporate world, Mr. Hagen earned an M.Ed. with a Middle School Math Endorsement from Loyola University in Chicago in 2005.

Much of Mr. Hagen’s family have recently moved and are very much enjoy living in the great state of Alabama! Mr. Hagen has also coached Junior High Girls Softball for 11 years, Boys and Girls Distance Track for 15 years, while also running the school chess team for 13 years. This year, he is excited to join the Indoor and Spring Track coaching staff at MBJH! Go Spartans!
