The AHSAA scholastic wrestling season always begins the last week of October for middle school wrestlers. We have roughly one month of practices before competition begins towards the end of November. We will practice every day after school from 3:15-5:30 until the end of the season. The wrestling season ends mid-February with the Metro Championships. Attendance is mandatory. Purchase of spirit-pack items will be made through an online team store. However, there is a registration form below that parents/guardians need to fill-out and turn in to Coach Hall in room 217 of the Junior High or at the front desk (Mrs. Connie Crutchfield). There is a registration fee that covers meals, tournament fees, officials, and an end of the year party.  Wrestlers competing in the AHSAA for the first time will most likely need to purchase a headgear to protect their ears. Headgears can be purchased from the website linked below! Cliff Keen signature series headgears are the best on the market. We recommend that model if you are unsure about which headgear to purchase. If your child needs wrestling shoes, they can also be purchased at the website linked below. Wrestling shoes usually fit the same way tennis shoes fit. For example, if your child wears a size 9 nike running shoe, a size 9 nike wrestling shoe should fit just fine. #shieldsup and GO SPARTANS!
