Mrs. Erin Reaves

Welcome to my page!  My name is Erin Reaves and I am excited to be working at the Junior High again this year.

I spent eleven years working in Jefferson County in various roles.  I taught sixth grade for six years, all subjects throughout my time at Irondale Middle School.  I spent a great deal of time working with collaborative classes and felt a calling to go back to school to become a Collaborative Teacher.  I received my first master’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2010.  Then, I was able to move into a Collaborative Teaching position working with grades six through eight.  Many leadership opportunities were presented to me during my time at Irondale Middle School.  I was offered an opportunity to be a part of a cohort program with Jefferson County to work on my Educational Leadership Master’s degree.  I completed the program through the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the spring of 2013.  After completing this program I moved to Bragg Middle School to be an Assistant Principal from 2013 to 2015.  In being an administrator I missed establishing positive relationships with students in a classroom setting.  I was eager to get back into the classroom to work with students in that particular setting and coming to the JH has been a breath of fresh air. I am looking forward to a great year and many more at the JH.

If I can ever be of assistance to parents or students I am willing to lend a helping hand. This going to be the best one yet!  Go Spartans!
