Sixth Grade Celebration Information
The two words in the subject line began my first conversation with our sixth grade students. We stood in a circle, looked each other in the eye, said a greeting including our name, and then the words, "You matter." I couldn't have imagined how those words would have more of an impact TODAY than in August. These students matter so much, that instead of honoring them on one day, we're choosing four! Each day during the week of May 18, we will celebrate our sixth grade students with a week of video shout outs, mailbox deliveries, and a Cougar Cruise through the neighborhood. Please see the event schedule, Cougar Cruise route, and a special podcast for the students listed below. Special shout out is extended to all the PTO, Sixth Grade Parent Committee, Sixth Grade teachers, and CES Administrators for working so hard to make this event a memorable one. See you soon!

Cougar Cruise Celebration Guidlines
Instead of the Cougar Walk one last time, let's do a Cougar Cruise through the neighborhood. Tell your friends and neighbors to line the streets (observing social distancing of course) and or stand on their porches to cheer! We are asking all sixth grade families to do the following:
- Please have only one car per family.
- Student(s) should be seated on the passenger side.
- Please line up at Mountain Brook Baptist Church by 8:45 a.m. There will be people at the church to help with directions.
- Feel free to decorate your car and place the student's name in right hand corner of the windshield.
- Do not stop along the route. We will have a police escort during the cruise.
