Senior Grace Carr Honored As Gatorade Alabama Volleyball Player of the Year

Mountain Brook High School Senior, Grace Carr, was recognized by the Mountain Brook Board of Education for being named the Gatorade Alabama Volleyball Player of the Year at the February 10th Board meeting.

The Gatorade State Player of the Year award program winners are selected on the basis of three criteria:

Athletic Excellence - Standout performance in their respective sport made at the high school, club, national or international levels of competition.

Academic Achievement - Review of GPA and class rank, as well as SAT and ACT scores, and academic honors distinctions.

Exemplary Character - Commitment to sportsmanship, character and community through membership and participation in positive activities.

  Since its inception in 1985, the Gatorade Player of the Year program has become the most prestigious award in high school sports and honored a distinguished list of athletes including Peyton Manning, Abby Wambach, Karl-Anthony Towns, Derek Jeter and many other sports icons.
