Using your Google Drive for Cloud Storage

  • In your Google Drive, you can upload pictures, documents, presentations, movies, etc. to your drive and access them from any device from anywhere with an Internet connection. The default for uploads is to upload in the original format. (Example: A Microsoft Word document would upload as Microsoft Word to your Drive and keep its formatting.)
  • Each file that you upload gets its own URL and is shareable with others.
  • You can create a folder in your Google Drive, share it with other teachers in the district, and anything you put in that folder is accessible by those other teachers/students with whom you shared the folder. In order to share in Google, you need to know the other person's username. You will share with the other person by sharing with their username@student.mtnbrook.k12.al.us.

  • You can create a new document, slide, presentation, etc. in your Google Drive. These documents will automatically save. Be sure you have titled your files. You can share a file with other teachers and students by clicking Share and typing in the other user's username@student.mtnbrook.k12.al.us.
