Parents and Students,
Welcome to another wonderful year of band at Mountain Brook Junior High! I am incredibly excited for this upcoming year and I can not wait to get started next Tuesday. If you have any questions about band please do not hesitate to call the band office or send me an email. Information pertaining to the next few days is below. Another email will be sent out next week with information about band donations, the band calendar, and other basic information about the year.
- Bring your instrument to the first day of school! We will start our school year off making music. Please come to school prepared. Students are welcome to bring their instruments to the band room before school or bring it with them to their band period. We will have a secure place in the band room to store them during the day.
- Band Jamboree: All MBJH band students are invited to our 2nd annual Band Jamboree this Thursday, August 9th, at the Mountain Brook High School Football Stadium. There is a brief parent meeting at 6:30 in the cafeteria followed by the premier of our 2018 halftime show and Steel City Pops! The meeting at 6:30 is our primary meeting where we speak about helping in the concession stand. The concession stand is the main source of income for our band program including all individual instruction that goes on at MBJH.
- Dr. Foster’s Retirement Reception: Please join us Friday, August 10, from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Mountain Brook Baptist Church to celebrate Dr. Foster’s contribution to the Mountain Brook Band program. Dr. Foster has done so much for our students here at MBJH and we would love to have as many as possible join us. Please RSVP at the this link: https://www.evite.com/event/
- Check out the Website’s New Look: Most of our information for the year has already been posted. Here is the link: https://www.mtnbrook.k12.al.us/Domain/1353.
I can not wait to see everyone at our Jamboree and Dr. Fosters reception and I hope you all enjoy your last few days of summer.
