Caleb Barnett, a member of the Mountain Brook High School graduating class of 2025, was selected by the Chicago Cubs with the 571^st overall pick in the 19^th round of the 2025 MLB Draft. Caleb is the 11^th player in the high school baseball program’s history to be selected in the draft and the first since Jason Nappi in 2010.

Caleb was selected as a 6A All State First Team player by the Alabama Sports Writers Association this past season. He totaled five home runs while driving in 28 runs and capped his senior season with a .521 on-base percentage. Congratulations to Caleb, his teammates and coaching staff!
