Wednesday, August 13, 2025 – The Mountain Brook Schools Board of Education met Monday, August 11 at Mountain Brook Board of Education for the district’s monthly board meeting. Below is a rundown of the meeting:

Board Members present:  Jenifer Kimbrough, Anna Comer, Daniel Odrezin and Anne Schilleci.

Board Meeting Agenda

The meeting opened by approving minutes from the last board meeting.

Reports to the Board:

• MBS Chief School Financial Officer, Kari Austin, presented board members with the district’s monthly financial statements, which were unanimously approved.
• MBS Facilities Director, Tommy Prewitt, presented board members with a facilities update from summer construction.

Old Business

• Policy J-30 (Private Instruction) and J-32 (Credit for Courses Offered Outside of MBS) were unanimously approved. Click here to access the district policies.

New Business

• The board unanimously approved the latest personnel recommendations and unanimously approved miscellaneous items as surplus so that they can be discarded/donated/sold.
