MBHS Principal, Carrie Busby, Announces Retirement

Mountain Brook High School Principal, Carrie Busby, announced her upcoming retirement to her faculty and staff on Monday afternoon, April 6. The retirement will be effective July 1, 2026.
“I am so thankful for Carrie’s leadership at Mountain Brook High School for nearly a decade,” Superintendent Dr. Dicky Barlow said. “During her time as a school administrator (both Principal and Assistant Principal) Carrie has led our high school community with a servants heart, keen decision making, a positive attitude and much more.”

“I am so grateful for my time at Mountain Brook,” Busby said. “I was fortunate to experience so much during my time here and see thousands of students flourish in and outside of the classroom. Mountain Brook has been a great school and community long before I arrived and will continue to be such because of the wonderful people in and around our school and community. I’m grateful for my experience!”
July will mark 25 years in education for Busby where she has worked as an administrator, classroom teacher, mentor, been involved on numerous state boards and much more.
