Brookwood Forest Announces New Principal

Tuesday, May 19, 2026 – The Mountain Brook Schools Board of Education has unanimously approved Ashley Crossno as the next Principal at Brookwood Forest Elementary School.
“I am honored to step into the role of principal at Brookwood Forest,” Crossno said. “Our faculty and staff, families, and most especially our Rangers make BWF the best place to come to work each day. It will be a privilege to continue building on the strong foundation established by Mr. Nathan Pitner and lead our ‘Family in the Forest’ in the years to come.”
Crossno has 15 years of experience in Mountain Brook as a classroom teacher (Crestline), literacy coach (Cherokee Bend), and assistant principal (Brookwood Forest) in our district. Before coming to Mountain Brook, Ashley spent 3 years at Oak Mountain intermediate as a teacher.
“Ashley’s deep relationships with her Brookwood Forest colleagues and others around the district paired with her experience serving on the school’s administrative team qualify her for this position,” Superintendent Dr. Dicky Barlow said. “I am excited to see her lead BWF!”
